AIHEC Leadership
The AIHEC Leadership Fellows Program
The AIHEC Leadership Fellows Program was designed to increase the number of American Indian senior-level leaders at Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). Ten fellows were selected every year over three years to receive training aimed at developing the leadership skills needed to be a successful senior-level administrator. The AIHEC Leadership Fellows Program also focused on developing skills needed to manage issues specific to Tribal Colleges and Universities.
The AIHEC Leadership Fellows Program was part of a collaborative effort under the aegis of the Kellogg MSI Leadership Fellows Program aimed at increasing the number of senior-level leaders at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). The purpose of each program was to prepare ten exemplary individuals per year (or 30 individuals across the three programs) for the challenges and rigors of becoming the next generation of senior-level leaders at the nearly 340 MSIs in the U.S. In addition to participation in joint and individual workshops, seminars, and discussion groups during the academic year, each Fellow was matched with a Mentor president from another MSI who serve as a guide and resource throughout the Fellowship year, and beyond.
The Kellogg MSI Leadership Fellows Program is a "capstone" to more than $90 million of the Foundation investments within the past decade to minority-serving institutions.
